New Year, New Home Resolutions
Is one of your New Year’s Resolutions to move into a new home in 2018?
A key, is finding the right community in which to live.
And the resolve make it happen.
Bringing in the New Year makes us think of new beginnings, a chance for renewal … and for many resolutions. Another year has arrived and I am so thankful to be here. As I reflected on 2017, my mind turned to what my New Year resolutions should be – in fact, why even make a resolution?
My resolutions of past years were pretty spur of the moment, without real commitment. So I had to ask myself, ‘what is the purpose of making a resolution’? I discovered a resolution was simply resolve to change. Maybe a trait or behavior. Maybe change a condition in which I live? I discovered my prior resolutions had been more about behaviors, and I rarely considered conditions. So what are conditions? Google states, “Conditions are circumstances affecting the way in which people live or work, especially with regard to their safety or well-being”.
A change in conditions is a big deal; I’d dare say a life changer. So why not? Why not a new you? Why not a new life? Why not a new experience? Why not change your conditions to improve your life? Why not create the best years of your life by changing the one thing you have the most control of: your conditions and where you live? I offer these 4 resolutions to you in an effort to propel you toward an improved life. Who doesn’t want an improved life? You have to be observant and honest about the conditions you are in, understand what can and should improve, do your homework to know your options, and be committed to a real change for your betterment. To get there requires knowing what you and your family desires, intentional discovery, commitment, and a little resolve.
For 2018, I challenge you to set a life changing New Year resolution.

RESOLUTION #2: Find a community to live that you love being part of. Where you feel safe.
Osage Point in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas provides that, deemed the safest city in Arkansas in 2016. We don’t have the social unrest, the violence, the crowded highways. We don’t have the life threatening large scale weather disasters that affect a large portion of the terrain or population, such as 100,000 acre wildfires, destructive hurricanes, blizzards, extended extreme cold, mud slides, heavy sustained winds, devastating earthquakes, debilitating droughts, or monsoon rains. Walk your dog and have no fear.

RESOLUTION #4: Look for a local economy that allows you to live comfortable. One you can afford.
As an example, our property taxes are low. On a $300,000 home the property taxes are in the range of $2,800 per year. Your retirement money will last longer, and it just might make retirement possible, or make your retirement possible years earlier than you thought.
Our homes are moderately priced and affordable. You will have no expense for exterior maintenance on your building, yard, or landscaping, plus all new appliances, water heaters, heating and cooling system, LED lighting, and extremely low energy costs make this affordable or years to come.
